Happy Friday! Now that I’m settled into my new job and not working two jobs, I can finally hop back on the blogging train! I mentioned it on my Instagram a little while ago that my schedule was super crazy because I was working 2 jobs which had me at 45+ hours a week. No. Thank. You. Now I’m working full-time as a social media manager for a local business here in Wilmington and I loveee it! So, today I wanted to share a few tips and tricks for kick starting your week. Working Monday-Friday means I have to prioritize what I need to get done on the weekends, and Sunday is when I prep for the new week. If I have a super lazy, get nothing done type of Sunday my week doesn’t start off so hot. However, if I have a productive Sunday that means I’ll have a more productive Monday! Here are the main things I do every Sunday to start my week off right.
I Clean My Work Area
I ALWAYS clean my desk after I finish my work there. I’m the type of person that hates clutter and likes everything to be neat and tidy, so this is a must for me. Every night before I go to bed I put everything away that is sitting on top of my desk, and tidy up the inside of the drawers I get into on a daily basis. I also do this to my desk at work each evening before I leave. Having a clean work space definitely makes my day start off better!
I Plan My Week & Make To-Do Lists
Those who have followed me for a while know I’m a huge planner junkie and I own way too many notepads, notebooks, and basically any type of stationary there is. Before the week starts I always sit down and write all of the super important things I need to remember for that week in my planner. Along with that I’ll start a running to-do list for the next day (I actually do this daily). If I don’t write it down I’ll forget to do it until its late at night, that’s just how I am. I also keep to-do lists on my phone for on the go as well! Google Keeper is one of my favorite apps for that!
I Clean & Organize Our Home
This is huge for me because as I’ve stated before I hate clutter. Waking up to a clean home makes my week start off much better! My kitchen is one thing that has to be spotless before bed, and everything else gets a quick sweep before I head to bed as well. I also do a load of laundry or two if needed. Having a clean home means having less to do the next day.
I De-stress & Have Me Time
Some people do this after a long week, but I like to have me time before a long week. A bubble bath, mani & pedi, movie night with the hubs, reading some inspirational blogs or books, listening to Podcasts while I do chores, watching some YouTube videos, etc. I just love anything that refreshes my mind and helps me relax and get motivated for the week. Sometimes its hard for me to stay motivated, so nights like this help me so much!
I Do What I Can The Night Before
I feel like I’m going super old school with this one. “Lay out your clothes the night before and you won’t rush in the morning.” If that ain’t the gospel I don’t know what is! If I have to be somewhere early I always, always, always lay out my outfit the night before. It saves me so much time! I also do other things I can the night before like set the timer on my coffee machine so I don’t have to worry about prepping it when I wake up. Waking up as my coffee machine starts up is one of my favorite things ever!
What do you do to prep for the week?
